It's showtime 2010!

This February mobilee is showing the love of all things music with Back to Back Vol. 4, a very special release produced by And.Id with jazz interpretations of classic mobilee tracks alongside the original grooves. Back to Back Vol. 4 will be supported by a European tour spearheaded by And.Id and a rotating roster of mobilee artists. Enjoy a musical aperitif to the tour with And.Id's live-mix podcast.

A new decade inspired us to give the mobilee website a freshen-up as well. All things new and all things mobilee are glammed up and waiting for you there including freshly squeezed "Necotine" by Hermanez on Leena. You will also find another highly anticipated release, "iThought", from the label's forerunner herself, Anja Schneider. It's a long awaited follow up to her success last year with "Deseo/La Roulette" and it leaves no disappointment. Enjoy!

mobilee joins WMC 2010

For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting the mobilee event schedule for WMC 2010 we are finally able to share the big secrets we've been keeping for the last weeks! Anyone who has ventured to the legendary mobilee Hotel Diagonal rooftop parties at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona will be running as fast as your feet can fly to the terrace at the White Law Hotel (Collins Ave. and 8th) on Wednesday afternoon for a mélange of mobilee mayhem provided by Anja Schneider, Sebo K, Pan-Pot and special guest Stuart Geddes. The cold German winter has our artists ready to hit South Beach with a big bang, so bring loads of sunscreen and a good attitude because this is an eleven-hour marathon that is just the beginning!

Dan Curtin releases 'Lifeblood'

That's right, the whispers have started and they are true, we are very excited about the forthcoming album by Dan Curtin on mobilee records set for release in April. As no stranger to the album format, this is Dan's ninth full-length release and also his first in three years, which we think is ample cause for celebration. A bona fide legend of Midwestern American techno, Curtin has used the album medium again and again as a vehicle for exploring ideas that don't fit conveniently on the space of a 12". 'Lifeblood' is no different. Refreshingly varied and remarkably cohesive, it's a welcome reminder of techno's expressive potential.

Five questions with... Hector

We recently caught up with Hector after his trip to Thailand where he played for The Zoo Project in Koh Samui Monkey Bay. In spite of terrifying boat trips to far out Yoga centers, it was a good trip away from it all to prepare himself for a busy year ahead.

Starting with the first edition of The Zoo Project's compilation series, which will be his first mix compilation release, he's also producing a track for mobilee's 5 Year Anniversary CD out this summer and he talks about his plans for new project Los Vatos.

Martin Landsky releases 'Werkschau' on Poker Flat

Landsky's career has been a fruitful one and since the turn of the Millennium he has had a long term relationship with Poker Flat. In March he will be releasing 'Werkschau' on the label, an unmixed compilation that gathers together a hand picked selection of his favourite cuts. This collection lets light on the many corners of his devoutly created sound, and really goes to show his long standing quality output as an artist.

Exercise One 'Several Things At Once EP' on Wagon Repair

If you haven't already, make sure you check out Exercise One's newest EP 'Several Things At Once' on Wagon Repair. The four track piece, with a digital only bonus track, has something for everyone - title track "Several Things At Once" was explicitly meant to be an extension of their live set keeping it rough and heavy, whilst A2 track "Breeze" presents an almost early era Aphex Twin ambient sound, with live samples of wind chimes mixed with melodies and reverbed kicks.

Pan-Pot in Japan

Pan-Pot have just got back from their tour in Tokyo! They played at the Triangle in Osaka and then at the Ageha in Tokyo. According to Tassilo "the sound system in Ageha was of the one best sound we've ever played on" and he would also like to thank the Triangle crew for making the night very special. Anja Schneider - iThought

In April last year, Anja celebrated mobilee's 50th release with "Deseo" and "La Roulette" - some of mobilee's most successful releases to date - which she produced with minimal-house don Lee Van Dowski. In between a busy touring schedule, bringing mobilee's unique minimal house twist to clubs across the globe, Anja has been back in the studio and this time with co-producer and long time friend Joakim Ijäs, aka Kiki.

Hermanez - Necotine

Leena013 welcomes talented young Belgian producer Hermanez to the label and he certainly doesn't arrive quietly! With its punching bass line and bouncing rhythms, a theme that can be found in many of Hermanez's productions, "Necotine" will kick a dormant crowd out of their drifting slumber and into hip-shaking action. Whilst B-side "Soms" initially tricks you into a more reserved intro, the kick drum quickly comes back and with a hint of synth, carrying the energy through.
